Our Mission

At From Warrior to Rancher Foundation, we believe the skills learned during service are exactly what America needs: on construction sites, on farmland, and in communities welcoming returning veterans.

That’s why our veteran training programs connect honorably discharged veterans to paid apprenticeships, sustainable farming and ranching courses, and entrepreneurship guidance.

The Challenge

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than 32,882 veterans experienced homelessness in 2024. One in five veterans lives with PTSD or depression. Many are working jobs that do not match their abilities or ambitions. These numbers reveal a gap between veterans’ potential and the opportunities available to them.

The Opportunity

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a shortage of more than 440,000 skilled construction workers, while the nation needs five million new homes to ease the housing crisis. Foreign entities now control 43 million acres of American agricultural land, and corporations hold about thirty percent of farmland value. Veterans trained through our veteran training programs are uniquely positioned to close these gaps. Their discipline, mission focus, and love of country make them ideal candidates to build homes, grow food, and steward the land.

Our Solution

From Warrior to Rancher Foundation provides veteran training programs in trades and agriculture. We offer paid apprenticeships in HVAC, electrical, welding, framing, plumbing, and general contracting, as well as courses in ranching, sustainable farming, livestock management, and land stewardship. Through these experiences, veterans earn recognized certifications, gain real-world skills, and move directly into careers or business ownership. Our veteran workforce development approach further supports their transition into post-military training programs. Ultimately, each acre they farm or ranch stays in American hands.

Honor Service

We respect the sacrifices veterans made and give back through meaningful opportunities. Our veteran training programs ensure that their commitment continues to strengthen America.

Strengthen America

By filling labor gaps, building homes, protecting our land and securing food independence, we connect veteran training programs with national needs. Veterans are part of the solution to multiple crises.

Build Legacy

Our programs help veterans transition from warriors to entrepreneurs. They create generational change for their families and communities while keeping farmland and ranchland under American stewardship.

Trade Skills Training

Our veteran job training programs provide paid apprenticeships in HVAC installation, electrical systems, welding, plumbing and general contracting. Veterans earn industry certifications through organizations like NCCER and gain direct-hire connections with employers across the nation.

Ranching & Sustainable Agriculture

Our veteran farming and ranching programs teach livestock management, soil health, crop planning and ag‑business fundamentals. Veterans receive hands-on training that prepares them to operate and grow viable ranching and farming enterprises.

Veteran Land Ownership Program

Through our foundation‑managed land portfolio, veterans can access lease‑to‑own farmland and ranchland. These opportunities build equity, generate income and create a lasting legacy while keeping American farmland in American hands.

Why This Matters

America faces three interconnected crises: veteran welfare, food security, and housing. These are linked: veterans confront homelessness, mental health challenges, and underemployment; meanwhile, foreign and corporate ownership threaten farmland and food independence. There is a critical need for both skilled workers and affordable homes, which our veteran training programs address. Veterans are the answer.
